PILOT PLANT IN MW AREA - ORCTES

The HTTES system (project name ORCTES), built at the University of Bayreuth was put into operation in 2015 and was the last step towards commercialization on the large scale market. The ORCTES system stores heat at temperatures of up to 600 °C and converts it back to electricity using an ORC turbine.

The video below from the University of Bayreuth describes our storage tank during a test at 300 °C. With this HTTES, however, temperatures of up to 600 °C can be reached without any problems.
